Man releases wild animals in Ohio and then kills himself. And so what does Ohio do? They shoot and kill the animals, including a grizzly bear, mountain lion, leopard and Bengal tiger.

Sheriff Matt Lutz has this little gem of wisdom: "We could not have animals running loose in this county."

A possible reason:
They're not human and therefore – perhaps much like the mattachine or the Shakespearean fool who reside on the margins of society (yet tell unspoken truths) – have a certain freedom that humans in human bodies do not. Gender transitivity, immortality, lack of genitals?
